Atheron Canival 23rd June 2019 – Brian Seddon, Carnival Committe
The band was great at our recent event and the crowds enjoyed the music they played during the parade. Communiction between both groups was excellent and as usual the members of the band were very friendly to ourselves and the crowds and looked like they were enjoying the carnival parade. My committee love seeing the band at our event and we hope you can attend next year.
Thelwall Rose Queen Carnival 15th June 2019 – Margaret Leid
Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band have been an important part of Thelwall Rose Queen Procession and festival for the past 4 years. This year they gave their usual excellent, moving performance despite torrential rain for the whole of the procession and again when they played in the arena. Many thanks from me as one of the organisers and the residents of Thelwall who turned out to watch despite the appalling weather. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
Goosnargh & Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival 1st June 2019 – David Butters, Chairman
The Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band has been a regular booking of our annual village festival for many years and I fully commend them for their smartness, co-operation and professionalism. Even when they’ve had problems due to sickness or absence they have always fulfilled the engagement and they have never let us down. Our day would not be the same without The Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band leading our procession and I would recommend them to anyone.
Pearson Family Children’s Funeral – Walkden September 2018
The band was asked to lead the Pearson children’s funeral procession, Demi 15, Brandon 8, Lacie 7 and Lia 3 lost their lives in an arson attack on their home in Walkden, Manchester. This was an emotional and difficult day for all concerned. Below is feedback received from the funeral directors.
Etia and Amjid – Wedding at Mere Golf Club Resort – 02/08/18
We just want to sincerely thank you and your band for making our wedding one to remember and that will be talked about for years to come! You really delivered our dreams and we sure will be coming back to you in the future.
Natalie Gregg – Matlock Farm Park – 27/08/17
Dear all band members
We wanted to write to genuinely express our thanks to you and your members, for making the journey to our farm park on Sunday for the very first Peak District Highland Games.
An event of this scale was a first for us and to be honest, we were a little worried on how it might turn out. So we were hoping the first immersions of the first event of the Highland Games competition would grab the crowd and set them off to an enjoyable day.
However, when your pipes started and the band started to play at the start of the opening ceremony we didn’t need to worry anymore, you got the whole crowd’s attention and immediately created an amazing atmosphere that continued throughout the day. We had a great bunch of strong and entertaining competitors that gave their all and helped us to hopefully make this an annual event, but it was the Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band who put the icing on the cake.
We have now set a date for the 2018 Peak District Highland Games on Sunday 26th August. We would really like to book you again, this time we will be a little more organised and treat you all to lunch too!
Thank you again, we hope you can make it again next year and we look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Kind regards
Natalie Gregory
